Politics, conspiracy, and guns oh my....

From Wikipedia

The Second Amendment (Amendment II) to the United States Constitution is the part of the United States Bill of Rights that protects the right of the people to keep and bear arms. It was adopted on December 15, 1791, along with the rest of the Bill of Rights. The Supreme Court of the United States has ruled that the Second Amendment protects an individual right to possess and carry firearms.[1]

It seems that everyone is up in arms lately, no pun intended.  Comparing Obama to Hitler.  Saying the Sandy Hook tragedy was either staged and completely fake, or that it was set-up by the government.  Seriously?  Really?  While I don't agree with the president on a lot of the fiscal issues, I don't see any effort to take away guns, I just see more regulations.  Of course, the real problem isn't truly addressed nor does these actions truly prevent another mass shooting.  Let's look at some of this possible executive orders.

Provide law enforcement, first responders, and school officials with proper training for active shooter situations.

Is there really something wrong with this?  The old saying, the more you know.

Here is the full listMy head just can't grasp where your right to bear arms was taken away there.  I just don't see it.  I have nothing against anyone owning a gun.  My father-in-law does and he's a hunter.  My father does, and he's a member of the NRA.    I learned to fire a .22 Bolt Action Rifle.  Why though, does anyone need a gun that can fire a 100 shots in a matter of minutes, like the one Adam Lanza used?

All this just shows me that we still avoid the responsibility problem.  We also avoid placing blame on improper parentingI notice that while you want to restrict gun access to those deemed mentally unfit, I'm sure there are thousands upon thousands who are not getting proper care or diagnosis due to the health care system.

I know Fox News is evil to a lot of people, but this column by Juan Williams is bi partisan and excellent in explaining what rights Obama has and how it fits in with the debate.

My fear, which has been realized, is that the tragedy would be politicized.  It was, and continues to be by BOTH sides of the spectrum.  This had a chance to be a real lesson, to help people, and to do some real good in society.  Instead, politicians got on their soapbox, and preached and preyed on emotions.  Tug a heart string here, photo op there.

Last but not least, the conspiracy.  People digging their 'investigative heels' and making youtube videos and blogs with allegations.  I will NOT link any such material, because I don't feel like publicizing these idiots.  As any true reporter or writer knows, the first stories and facts will change because of shock, fear, anger and other assorted emotions.  These news companies were trying to rush rush rush to be the first to report, and discrepancies be damned, they wanted the scoop.  The far majority of people were panicked, not sure what was going on.  People jumped to conclusions.  Now, these theorists out there use that for their arguments?  That is just as irresponsible as the news companies.  Anyone can link 2 things together.  Anyone can twist words and facts to make an argument.  What annoys me is that people with common sense would believe this.  I'm not saying our government has never done things, because I'm sure they have more than we ever know.  If you take emotion of this though, take a step back.  Take a deep breath, and listen to the organ in your head, then you can stop believing these youtube fairy tales.
